Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
