Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had prompted some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional championship, took control to create a final set.
He defended four early opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
